Just wondering what anyone with a stock 6-volt system is doing for backup lights?
I don't recall seeing back up lights on anyone's 6 volt truck. I'm thinking that would be more common on a truck with an automatic transmission with a reverse switch on it.
But someone will jump right in here and tell you how they did it.
Accessory backup lights were added to cars and trucks as a safety feature long before they were required by law. A simple toggle switch on the dash was used to activate.
I have a nice set I may use on my truck when I get time...
When I back up into my garage - unless it is in the very middle of the day - I can't see very much and sure could use a light back there. But I wouldn't want a dash switch cause that is one more thing to have to remember to use before I switch gear. I suppose that I could rig up an activator on the HD 3-speed. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has done this and what type of switch they used and where/how it was mounted.
You can regularly find some cool-looking and practical period-correct light housings on Flea-Bay. Usually for under $50.
