OK Everyone, I have an appointment on Friday for the new glass . I'm going in with the knowledge gained in this thread. I'll let you know how everything turns out, keep your fingers crossed I don't end up dealing with a service rep who won't listen to reason and give it a try.

OK, back from the glass installer. and ..........................
01 F250 with the "Super Duty" windshield in place and it looks great.
Here's the details. Install at a Safelite location (they have an agreement with my insurance company) but I had specified I wanted a Carlite brand windshield, no problem, just took a couple of days to get the windshield there. Part number is DW01522 GBYCAR. It also says to replace with new 994321 - w/shield solar "Super Duty" in 3rd visor. Cost: (Parts: 96.70), (Labor 120), (install kit 11.53) Grand total 237.00 (includes tax) all covered by the insurance company.
