1964 F100 Windshield

I have a cracked front windshield on my 1964 F100 Styleside. I am doing a frame-off on the truck , I was thinking about just replacing all of the glass. Can I just buy these from local glass shop or do I need to get online. Also the front glass I assume was just clear when new, no tint. Thanks for any help. I have googled some of this and got a little confused on what to do. You guys have a good week. David

I got mine from a local glass shop, I went with a tinted one. Clear is what Ford put in.

I'm also in FL, I got mine from Wisconsin or Minnesota from a manufacturer. He brought it to Zepherhills auction/car show for free. Was $119 as I remember.. Seems the shipping is the real cost of getting one. Tinted slightly more ($10-15 as I remember)

I'll look up the name and number if you are interested

Clear glass was standard equipment. Tinted windshield only was optional or all the windows tinted was optional.

A Sun Band windshield was available from auto glass shops beginning in the 1970's, it's a tinted windshield with extra tint across the top.

All three of these windshields are available from auto glass shops, the NAGS number is W602 .. then one has to specify clear, tinted or Sun Band.

In 1982, I installed a Sun Band in my '65 F100, but if you're tall, seeing thru that extra tint at night might be problematic.

NAGS = National Auto Glass Society.

Windshield is the same: 1961/66 F100/1100 - 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1100 - 1967/69 F800/1000.

Be sure to shop around to see if any given shop really knows how to install glass in old trucks. Especially if you intend to install the aluminum trim strip that is installed with the rubber. Many shops don't have the experience to install the seal types we use, let alone the trim. Seek a shop who the restoration shops use to install their glass.

The windshield reveal mouldings are stainless steel, not aluminum.
