Just got a powerstroke: Tips?
just bought a 7.3 powerstroke with about 100,000 miles... yee haw i would appreciate some tips on what i need to look for as far as what could turn into problems and what to add on first. thanks

when that is checked out..look in my sig and click on mod's and fixes...you will find a few things there to keep you busy..the rest depends on your plans for your truck...

Welcome to FTE!
Some of the first things is to change all your fluids and filters first so you know they are up to date, check for leaks in the valley and check your turbo. Also check for boost and exhaust leaks on your up pipes and exhaust. First mods that would be advisable would be the 6637 air filter, with a 4in exhaust to get rid of the restricive factory system, gauges and a Dp-tuner for the mods. Post what year and body style it is.
Again welcome to FTE and stick around and you'll know the truck like the back of your hand.

Welcome to FTE! I agree with JDecker88.....even if a dealer tells me that all the fluids are fresh, I prefer to change everything on the truck, front to back! Then you KNOW it's done and have a great starting point in the maintenence. www.7point3.com is a great starting point also! Enjoy the site

The truck is a 99' crew cab 4x4 great cond. no problems i know for a FACT that it was just went through front to back about 6 months ago... Ive heard alot about DPtuner but then again ive heard a bunch about bully dog, edge, etc.. but all thats gonna have to come a bit later on. Figure first im gonna deal with exhaust get that turbo to scream ha ha

These guys are so good they can put a stop light on a walking cane. They might differ on what kind of beer to drink but pretty close on the mods to do and what order. I with Up_There I changed out all my fluid levels first.
