If you really wanted to dig a little further, your next step would be to do a leakdown test, to get a general idea of WHERE you're losing your compression but we both know it's a moot point now.
Let the bonding begin, between this customer's wallet and your paycheck!!! CHA-CHING!!!!!

That ain't right!!!!! It is a bummer that the customer didn't have any hand in the supplier of the injectors.

True, but unfortunately that's the reality of things...
You can do what I would do and try to reach out to the manufacturer of the injectors to see if they'll pony up. (Doubtful, but the answer is always "no" until you ask) However, I think that we'll all agree that at this point Motorcraft injectors are best and those injectors are just cores now.
With the good work you do, it'll cost a little, but they'll come out ahead in the end.
...... and look on the bright side. You were just bitchin' about being in the red for your new shop. Well, now this job will be a huge help to finance it.
Got the green light!!!! It's gonna be an expensive job. We are gonna do a set of injectors,, and prob wire harnesses too. Who knows. But it's gonna take some care to get it up to par. I'm concerned about that head tho. We reassembled it and put it outside. We have a strict "no basket case" policy. Just in case he didn't want to do it. We are backed up so the day he needed to decide,, put him at the back of the line. He's ok with it.
We can call em out now. DCP. I think they are on eBay. We are gonna start a thread on our experience about how they stand by their product. And the quality of said product. They definately fall DIRECTLY into the category of sellers we avoid like the plague. We have never, and will never install any aftermarket injectors. PERIOD!!!!
There were multiple issues with this engine tho (story of SDS's life huh).
Geese what did yall throw a hand grenade in there?
Lol,, it was running with that in it.
I'm guessing the crack in the tip was spraying in the top of the piston continuously. Causing the peices to melt n break and then crunching against the head. The head checked out tho!!! I'm gonna double n triple check tho. I did not see any markings on the head from contact... Crazy!!
