well guys my best friend just got his liscence and were were at a party and couldnt help but listen to him brag about his 2000 chevy 5.7 4x4 that his daddy just bought for him for 6000 dollars and i got tired of listening to his crap so i asked him if he would hook up to my 300 which he has no respect for cuz it only has 6 cylinders so we hooked up and i dragged his *** all the way down the driveway and embarrased him but i was just curious if any of you guys have any cool stories about your 300 takin a bigger motor and if the newer 5.7 is a better engine than the older 350
300-4.9 is the man !! torque out the but--will take it over a 302-5.0 any day-out the hole-pulling power-over a chevy!!! ha-ha-ha!!! any day!!!!other than a 327!!! they rock ---sorry ford fans!!!!
had a buddy had a 1989 Chevy 350-I offered to tie my 1988 5.8 to his bumper and have a pull off - both 4x4 he backed out???what does that tell you ???? Ford rules!!!!torque!! power!! hell yeah!!!!nuff said!!!
anybody ever notice that when fords are being compared to chitties they usually take a small-block (such as lightning 351) and compare to BB (such as 454SS)? and the ford still kicks ***
friend of mine tryed to tell me that my truck sucks compared to his 99 silverado, so i asked him whats in it he just says "v8" so i ask "and....any more details" he couldnt ell me anything more other that it was a v8, could tell me cubes, liters, nothing, gutta love that doesnt know crap and trys to bust ford peoples *****
yeah i love ford cuz we fill em with rock for hundreds of thousands of miles and d**n things wont die and i was real close to pickin up a early 90s 150 with the 300 until i found out bout some issues with it, i wouldn have regretted it a bit if i had, little torque monsters
ah durability!!!the only thing close to a ford for longevity was the old plymouths--1976 and earlier-ch@@y can't touch this-dahh-dahh-can't touch this-I'm Rick James B##ch!!!
Took my 86, 351w and auto tranny to a 4 wheel drag race. First round 97 Z71, I ran in four high(didn't know any better) and still kicked his rear. Second round, jeep CJ with 400 and single stage nos, I lost, but only by half a truck. The jeep took second to a 69 suburban, What really made me feel better was at the end of the day while I was driving off they were loading there's onto trailers.
For one I bet your friend dosen't know to much about engines. I also wouldn't doubt that he was in high if not 2wd. If he was smart he would have been in 4lo.
Do you know what gears he has, or what you have?
Any decient sized inline motor will make good troque. It's generally not smart to do something like that against a I6.
As for every one thinking that Ford is the only reliable, and longest running truck on the road. Hate it for ya.
Just think some people are to small minded to see something else that could be just as good.
i have 3.08s in mine i would imagine he would have shorter gears being a 5.7 and we were both in 4lo i told him to put it there nad he doesnt kno much about engines he has his daddy to fix anything for him
If it actually is a 2000 he dont have 350 that dumb idiot 99 was the new bodystyle and the 350 was dropped and the 4.8 and 5.3 came in (327) but right on kickin his *** he probably has the gutless 4.8l
I have 3.08's in my 96 Silverado/w a towing package.
Pulls just fine for me.
I wouldn't be dumb enough to try to pull another truck much less an inline 4x4.
