you just put yourself on the same level........nearly anyone will defend what they drive, but keep in mind that each engine will serve a purpose and to try and put yours on a pedestal will leave it vulnerable to people trying to knock it off
For the record, I don't go around bragging about my truck. Most of the time it comes up in casual conversation or sometimes the jerk just sees my truck and finds out it's a six cyl. Then I have to hear about what a peice of junk my truck is.
If that is what you meant by pedestal. So actually I don't think I'm on their level.
KCB37, I agree. I have owned all 3 major makers, in cars trucks and a few suvs, they all have there pros and cons. The best I have ever owned and still do is a 81 toyota 4x4 with a 22r and 4 speed. not a power house but a reliable truck that I beat the crap out of on a regular basis. I perfer Chevy because I was raised on them and my family sweers by them but I do own 2 fords, an F150 and a F250 diesel. Its all prefence and all the narrow minded folks stick to the "Ford rules!" or the "Chevy rules!" crap.
The 300 is a good motor but I personaly think yall put too much faith in it. ANY person who knew what they were doing could out pull someone with a heavyer truck with more torque or lower gears. 300 has good torque at idle but peters off real quick and your not gonna hook up to someone and try to pull them at 800-1000 rps. Hooking up trucks like that isnt a good way to judge the harder pulling truck cause all you have to do is stab the brakes and let them get there tires spining and them ease on the gas and nail it when you let off the brakes. Its easy to pull someone with there tires spinning. I have a 2001 Z71 Xtra cab and there is no way a 6 banger is going to pull it, I may be wrong but I dont see it happening.
The 5.3 are in the late 99s and up. and there 329 ci not 327. everyone thinks its the old 327 brought back but its not, its a completely different motor, different, internals, block, heads, intake everything.
Hey when my toyota had 33s on it I pulled a dodge 3500 DRW out of a ditch on a dirt road, he had a 5th wheel trailer full of shingles and my little yota pulled it out without using the winch. He helped though but still I was shocked.

you said it in a nutshell, my brother had a '80 Toy with a 22r and that thing would pull anything out of the ditch...top speed on hyway though 75mph....BTW to the other guy...anyboy that videotapes there average truck running for u-tube is bragging
i have a ford 300 and id prefer that over any newer gen truck because you cant beat it more and it last longer and i also have a 350 chevy i got for free whhich would take care of anything my 300 couldnt handle which i have yet to see as for those 22r those things do last forever probably because japanese are proud unlike usa who make crap anymore and go on strike every few years
guys those 22rs were the real deal-my brother in law had 2 trucks with them -he could not kill them and he could f**k up a wet dream-the longest lasting motors he had!!!

Am I the only one who finds this post a little "wierd"?
well yes... For the most part people are gonna stick to " Ford Rules" this is a ford truck enthusiast wesite .... haha..... but... im like most guys... i've owned a vehicle from pretty much everyone...ford....chevy....dodge..toyota...jeep even... but....each had there.. pro's and cons... but for ... fixing.. and and inter-changability .. i found my f-series.. to fit to my likely... basically everything.. from 80-96... will interchange... and .. plus... how can you beat the ttb ?..... chevy definatly couldnt come close with there junk setup front end... the 90's style ifs of theres... was total .. junk... same with dodges... like in ther dakotas.. and such ... .. as for the fullsize dodges.. the minute you put bigger tires on them.. your going through wheel bearings.. like socks... and they couldnt hold a tranny... to save there butt..... as for jeeps.. i got there jeep thing... now it burns when i pee..... i dunno i just dont like jeeps.. im a fullsize guy all the way.. but then again.. thats just my 2 cents...
Grey89F250, never did I say that my truck was the best, I dont see a 6 banger 300 out pulling it, pulling a trailer that is. now a 5.9 cummins will pull it all over the green earth.
Yea this is a ford site and I am proud to own 2 ford, also proud to own 1 chevy and a toyota, and if I come across a deal on a dodge with the cummins then I will be a proud owner of a dodge also.
Just dont get mad when I pull up to yall at a red light and my Chevy is loaded with 4 4wheelers, a tent and camping gear, 2 coolers full of beer loaded on a car trailer, fishing poles hanging out the bed and 4 SOB's int the truck and I pull away and leave that little 300 while you are looking for "another gear" cause it runs out of steam at 1200 rpms. Then I wont get mad when Im on the interstate and people are honking and blowing there horn at me because I cant get above 45 on the hills and cant find a "low enough gear" when Im in my toyota.

I can't believe I'm responding to this. I guess I'm getting soft.
I take those videos for other Ford men, not to show up those Chevy boys. I love to look up trucks and check out other people's rides. Ford makes some good looking trucks! Who's side are you on anyway? Ha ha.. You want to point fingers? Look at your profile.
I'll not argue with you, trucks aren't worth making enemies over. But don't you dare say I'm bragging. My truck is my baby.
If you think my truck is average, you must have a real POS. :P
Im a ford man and yes ford rules. Ive seen Ford, Dodge and Chevy half tons in action and that is exactly why im a ford man. I want a truck i dont have to worry about getting hung up on its frame when mud bogging (chevy). Im not even going to go there about toyota... Heavy duties its ford also, only complaint about them, with my dad owning two he put enough money into the front end to buy another smaller truck lol.. Dodge has the legendary cummins, chevy has IFS which to me is JUUNKKK for a HD, duramax rips tho. But with my dads truck and the 7.3 il throw down with a cummins pulling the same weight on the highway to see who handles it better.. My .02 cents
well ya a 5.9 cummins will out pull a 300 i personally think they are better than powerstroke but it doesnt help when you got a piece of crap transmission behind it either

there's nothing in my profile...and yes you are bragging, thoughlook how easy it is to push yor buttons...sure I have (had, before I dropped a v8 in) headers and duals on a six, felt kind of silly after I did it though

That aught to start the fire.....
Why is it so hard for you to say that a 6 cylinder will possibly out pull your SBC?
Maby your not beating your chest about ford rules chevy rules BLAH BLAH BLAH but you are saying that its impossible for a 6 cyl to out pull your V8 unless you bring the Cummins into with it is only a 6 cyl and is considered the best Diesel for medium duty trucks available.
