Hey all. Ive got a 2000 F150 Supercab. I am wanting to add one of those keypads to it. It looks like it is in the whole door handle assembly. Can this be done? Thought maybe I could get one from a junkyard. Any idea on cost and difficulty of install? Thanks for any help
I added one to my Lightning after an attempted theft left the driver's doorhandle broken. At that time I had to use Expedition handles which required modifiation to install. A regular F-150 handle should be available now. I replaced both door handles and added the keypad for under $300 with new Ford parts. Make sure you get the correct keypad. There's one with a long wiring harness and one with a short wiring harness. Install isn't hard at all, less than an hour if things go smoothly.
First off, I think you'll need the keyless entry system on your truck. I thought you need that module for keypads to work at all.
There is also a second easier option. Not as integrated looking though. Ford does make a wireless keypad that just sticks on the door. It ends up working the same as your keyfob. You program it up like a 3rd fob. I have one and like it. Good enough for me.

You can get these at doorkeypads.com. I looked for many, many hours for one for my new 2010 Tundra Crewmax and this is the ONLY one I found that did not require cutting my door or drilling to run the wires. Another big plus for this model was that I was able to install myself, so I didn't have to drop off at a stereo shop, etc to get installed like would have been required for all the other systems I saw... After having one in my 2006 Ford F150, I really can't say how handy a feature this is to have... especially if you have small kids...
