hey well i have yet another question. i just got the truck out from getting fixed an on my home the power steering pump went out. easy fix or would i need to take to the shop? an also wut a good price range to get it done for? dealer said no more he can do for me?
Below is a post from some time back. I did not record the thread name or the OP. Here it is and I hope it helps (no personal experience myself):
Ford has gone cheap with the current power steering pumps and so if you are replacing the pump strongly consider going to the saginaw pump. I ordered mine from AGR and here is the link http://www.agrperformance.com/informationcenter.html . I can't recal how much I paid but in the +200 magnatude. It is easy to find the pump from other suppliers but the trick is it needs a custom bracket and I only know AGR to make one but it also needs a minor adjustment which the supplier provide step by step instructions at the bottom of the web link I referred to.
thanks good to know for future reference. MY pump started to to the dying whine about 3 mos after I bought it, Since it was low on fluid I used the lucas power steering formula and after about 2 weeks - no whine and it has worked fine since but I am sure the day will come.
