97 7.3 edge evolution

i have a 97 f250 it has a dp chip and i am trying to stack a edge evolution programmer. whenever i try to download onto the truck, the programmer gives an error "timed out waiting for key on signal" the truck also has a ford security system on it, any ideas? the fuel pressure regulator is shimmed, oil pump out of a 99, 3" down pipe to 5" stacks, a big airfilter and guages, 5 speed

I dont believe that these are stackable. I didnt think that you can stack DP at all. I am prolly wrong on this though. Wait for Coon, or TJ to be sure. I wonder if its possible for a edge to be VIN locked? I havent heard one way or the other. Anyone know about this???

Nope can't do it! might even hurt your DP-tuner chip if you try. They both do the same exact thing except the DP-tuner is better!

Is the Evo. "stackable" though? When it is advertised it says it is.

Isn't the Evo a programmer that you plug into the OBD2 port? if it then no it is in no way stackable with a chip or other programmer.

i have another question about the DP tuner, what does the tuner acctually mess with, does it skew? the input devices or the output devices, if it mess with the PCM where does it mess around there? PROM, EPROM, RAM, ROM? thanks again, any input would be awsome.

It won't skew input or outputs on a scanner if thats what your asking. I think it just changes the tables in the PCM. Don't know the technical explanation.

Couldn't you stack it with a box like the Edge EZ?

yes an edge EZ can stack cause its just an expensive 10K (I think!) mod but the Evolution won't stack with any chip or programmer.

Right, you can stack a box and a programmer or a box and a chip. The chip and the programmer would cancel each other out because they do the same thing. A box fools the computer and programmers and chips replace your stock programming. This is how I understand it anyway. Please correct me if I am wrong.
