Have a 65, and believe same 61-66, came with the 1 speaker that is mounted underneath the speaker grill on top of the dash. The 4 screws that secures the grill to the dash is also used to mount the speaker.

On my '64, the speaker is located in the center dash. Kinda hard to get to since you have to remove the "Stereo" (am radio) to get to it. Allen, if you meant am radio but called it a "stereo", then yes it did come with one.
I bought a 5" from autozone that fits. How ever, my "grill" is built into the dash on my 66. I have the 4 mounting screws going thru the slots on the "grill" to hold it in place.
I didn't have to pull the stereo to put it in. It slid up over the side of the stereo. LOL, just watch the magnet, it tries to grab hold of anything metal under there. (Yeah, I have a stereo. The PO replaced the am radio)
