SCTX3 Problem
Give me a call concerning the issue tomorrow. We can contact SCT tech support and get the issue resolved; about 95% of such problems are simple software problems and won't require anything more than a file transfer to solve.
As for the problems with the General Economy, we can discuss that also. If it isn't getting the economy you seek, there are many changes we can make to fit your specific truck if the normal changes aren't doing the job.

Just as an update, myself and several other dealers have been fighting power, mileage, and response issues with tunes on many of the newer strategies released by Ford.
Turning the EGR back on helped quite a bit on a number of strategy codes, such as VXAP1N6 (TEC6), VXAP2N2 (TEC7), and a good number of VXCF4 strategy codes (late model 2005, 2006, early 2007). Just as we begin making progress on these codes, Ford comes along and releases an even newer (and horrible) VXCF5 series, starting with VXCF5H5. These tunes are like the plauge; they completely redid much of the FICM tuning (not controlled by the SCT) and have made injection timing changes damn nearly uncontrollable. When injection timing and fuel quantity is unpredictable and unresponsive to PCM commands, this makes both economy and power likewise unpredictable and hard to work with.
SCT's lack of update (as in adding accessible parameters, ect) in our software to address these issues with the newest flashes certainly doesn't help the matter either; as I know for sure there are pieces of the puzzle we cannot reach because of it.
Tuning of the FICM has become nearly first on the priority list around here; but all of the research is being done in-house and with one other small company; as SCT nor anyone else has software or hardware that will address that module. FICM tuning looks like it may be the only way to properly address the issues with the VXCF5 series codes.
Despite the issues at hand; The Xcal3 is still one of if not the best tuning product attainable for the 6.0; from us or from any other reputable SCT dealer. When SCT does release an update, I am confident they will resolve the issues and get dealers the access we need. Research and development on a calibrations level is slow and tedious; it has taken 5 years to get where the 6.0 world is now and it still changes, grows, and advances on a daily basis.
The "economy" development we have put much time and effort into has been a sidestep to the typical market and purpose for the flash tuner in general; and is still advancing just as the rest. If any company/tuner tells you their work is perfect and requires no refinement; they are lying (including the OE Manufacturers). I won't sit here and tell anyone our tunes are glitch-free and perfect in all instances; as they are not- and such is why we continually work every day to improve them. All technology has its glitches; the tuning world is just a prime example. Keep in mind that the original purpose of any aftermarket tuning is to make additional power. Fuel economy, drivability gains, and improved shifting are all supplemental features and benefits. In all honesty, any person who buys any aftermarket tuning device for the sole purpose of fuel economy with no other goals in mind stands the chance of being disappointed. However, I guarantee any customer who purchases a tuner with all possible benefits in mind will never, ever be disappointed with the SCT product

If there are still some issues and the potential for problems I don't want any part of it. If the updates are proven and will make things better I want them.
So...Matt...I am will wait until the matter is resolved and I can be certain you are comfortable that whatever you send will make things better.
Thanks for your efforts and thanks for what I consider to be major improvements I have already received.
