Since the price of Diesel is rising, I would like feedback on the improvements in MPG's that your SCT programmers made on your 6.0 power strokes...
1. What is your pre-SCT city/highway mileage?
2. What is your mileage (city/highway) running with the SCT tunes?
3. What tune were you running for the optimal mpg gains?
4. Type of truck you drive (F-250; 350; Excursion;4x4; 4x2; manual or AT; etc...)
I wanted to see a compilation of several trucks to see if the mpg improvments were there...
Just trying to see if buying an SCT is something that will save me $$ on diesel, as prices of fuel move up....
Same here buddy...... I'm installing gauges in our 04 around xmas and want a tune to give the old 6.0 a few more mpg. Stock, as is, its getting 17-18 highway, if that would improve to 20 I would not hesitate to spent $450 on the SCT.
Matt, I just reveived your tunes for my latest flash. Among them is the General Economy (CTR5). In your opinion, should I reinstall my throttle plate if this tune uses DGR?
So you gained 2mpg, not bad. Thanks for the info. I am surprised that more have not responded to this thread?? I know there is a lot that use the SCT...

yeah... I got better mileage and more power!.. if youre considering buying a tuner, I would get it from Matt with his Economy tune... alot of people on here swear by his tunes... I'm hoping to get some of his tunes as soon as work picks up a little...
I believe the SCT is worth the money with or without the mileage gains. My truck runs much better with it. Very little turbo lag with the SCT. I have Spartan's tunes and have not had much luck with mileage gains. Maybe 1/2 mpg with the aggressive street economy at the most. 12.5 stock to 13 with SCT. My truck is one of the very few that have not seen a mileage increase. I just received my new general street economy with the EGR enabled. I am looking forward to seeing if this is the magic tune. Either way, I am happy I purchased it. I will report back next week when I see what the new tune brings. THANKS SPARTAN FOR THE NEW TUNE!!!
Hey Matt, If you read this, would the aggressive street file with the egr enabled show better mileage results than the general street economy if driven with a light foot?
I am interested in hearing some feedback on our newest General Economy WITH EGR tunes; Have heard very little feedback from customers.
There will be ALOT of files going out tonight; so everyone please check your emails in the morning.
Matt, I started out running the agg st economy tune you sent me the other night. Logged 159 miles on it, 51 city, 157 highway, and got 16.1 mpgs. Got the General Economy with egr this morning, and loaded it right after I filled up. Ill keep you posted. Power, accel, seem about the same as the first file. Im putting togeather a spread sheet that I will log data on and send it to you in a month or so.
Thanks
It has killed my gas mileage! Haha! I can't keep my foot off the floor its rediculous. I will post back when I relax a little bit. I love the instantaneous power, its as if there is no turbo lag. The turbo lag I had with the edge was almost dangerous in wet conditions. It would come on full blast. Now with the Hybrid tune, it takes right off. The only gripe I have at this point is when the engine is cold. In the morning when I first take off, little throttle inputs make huge differences. If I step on it a little I get little power, but then a little more throttle it blasts off with throttle. This can't be good for a cold engine.
I run Matts economy tow and aggressive street tunes. My 04 F250 4 door, 4wd PSD got 12 mpg stock and gets 14.9 with the aggressive street tune with lots more power and the truck runs much cooler - stock the pyro temp is around 900 on flat freeway going 65 mph, with the ag st tune the pyro is about 700 degrees at the same speed. Towing my 30', 8000 lb trailer I get 8.5 stock and 9.9-10 mpg with the tow tune- again I have more power and it runs cooler. The only other mods I have are a cat back exhaust and an Airraid intake.
