I priced some a few years ago from Ford dealer...I believe it was $24 each ...too rich for me. I have since just gone without and discern no difference in sub-zero conditons and 100+ conditions.
I think if you look at aftermarket batteries, they specifically say not to use them. I think I saw that on my interstates. However Ive been wrong before. IMO its not worth anything.
I bought some of that foil/foam or bubble/ foam and made my own. nothing special, but I had some laying around too. not sure if it really does any thing, but it looks flashy kind of. ha
Hey i changed out my batteries today, i had only one insulation on (passenger) and it fits the stock battery, looked in pretty good condition when i removed it. I had a guy put it somewhere, i don't know if he put it in the basura (trash) or if he kept it. Let me check. If i have it, do you want it?
Let me know. I am unsure if it is really needed. I was going to check with ford to see what they say. It may just be because my truck was made for Canada witch gets colder than Utah.
If it is heat protection for the battery you want, I bought some stuff at Summit Racing that is like Dynamat, but it has aluminum on one side and is sticky (real sticky) on the other side. The aluminum coating would make a great radiant barrier.
