maybe somewhat,
but the wheel wells are where MOST of the sound 'sneaks' out ....

I made some wheel well liner extensions on my 04' to cover the big open area around the shock tower out of roofing rubber and secure it with plastic tree clips from McMaster. This helps to keep a bunch of the road crap off my headers but helps with noise a little.

My dads 03' has the hood insulation but Ford was too cheap to put it on my 04'. I can't really tell much difference in sound between his and mine. But his hood stays cooler. But my hood defrosts ice and snow quicker in the winter.

My '05 ex had steam rising off the hood in the cool rain today, makes me want to install that insulation to help keep my engine warm.

My 07 does this all the time. When I first got it I thought I had a problem, because I had never seen that happen on my Dad's 01. After finding the insulation was missing and then doing a little research to find out it wasn't included on the 07 I just live with it.
