Hey all it's been awhile since I've been on but I'm back.
I was looking for a place to pick up some D60 hub parts.
I went to NAPA but they don't seem to be able to get all the parts I need.
My bearing died and took the locking hub and everything else in there with it.
even that piece that the hub/rotor assembly rides on.
If you arent bent on getting original FORD parts you could always buy a set of Warn hubs. You will need their part number 38826 (I think thats the number) and they run about $120. Ebay is about the best source for the original stuff and its usually $120+
I just wanted to verify, I'm not talking about the locking hub mechanism I'm talking about all the c-clips bearings and other various pieces inside of the hub.
I wish I had my Haynes manual I would scan the page and show you what I mean. I know most of you have more knowledge than me on these trrucks so if I'm not explaining it correctly let me know.
Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of an exploded D60 hub from 78 ish era?
What holds the hub housing/rotor and all on to the truck/spindle?
Go here to see my problem when it happened back in June 2007. www.domesticcompact.com
there's a little quicktime movie I made you can see the damn thing is about to fall off. The only thing that was holding the wheel on the truck was the caliper.
the bearings and locknuts? any driveline/axle shop will have the misc stuff that typical parts stores will not have. two six-notch locknuts (one with a locating pin) and a lockwasher?
