Lots of variables here since many AAL's may have a different thickness and different rates. Really a "crap shoot" here.
By adding additional rate to your TTB front suspension, you will have to align the truck again since you will change the caster when you lift it. You will also affect the ride. AAL's will make an already stiff ride even worse.
Maybe consider this; http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/
click on Ford/dodge on the left to view the shackle reverse for your truck.
I've seen that shackle reverse before, and while it looks like a quality setup and it's fairly inexpensive, I'm not looking to lift the truck 3" because then I'd need TTB drop brackets too.
Ah well, maybe I'll leave it alone. It already needs new front springs anyway.
I re-read my reply above and neede to type "Camber" and not caster. Camber will change, and not caster, but you get the idea.
Maybe if the springs are shot, you could have them re-built. Might be cheaper and better in the long run.
Also be careful about how much of an increase in load you do ... Remember that you are not beefing up the bearings ... You can only haul so much for so long before they wear out ... Don't wear them out too soon ...
i added add a leafs to the front of my 97 f 350 work truck and man it rides hard now.you will really feel every pot hole in the street.I should know get ready for a stiff ride with no spring in your thing. As far as additional load capacity im not really sure.
