Bascars, could you share where you bought the VSM? Near as I tell, Ford doesn't make them any longer. Mine got fried when a shop replaced the alternator in the F250. Apparently they didn't disconnect the battery and arced something. Morons.

Jim, perhaps the thread below will help out a bit.
Also, I will tag @bascars in an effort for him to see your question. Sorry to hear about the damage the shop caused. I am clumsy enough to know better and always remove both terminals from both batteries when I am working under the hood.
Sorry for the delay. The site is www.fordsuperdutytruckparts.com but it comes up suspended. I reached out to the owner and he stated that the company that ran his website stopped hosting and he can't find username or password information. Maybe it will come up sometime so I am posting it here. Pulls up on Google search "Super Duty Ford Truck Parts KY" which gives address and phone number. Owner is a great guy-gave me a tour of the facility when I was in KY last month.
