great posting, child hood memories are super great.well, when i was very young, my dad would try to see how many different types of cars and trucks i could recognize while driving down the road. he knew them all, and he was trying to teach me them too.it was this sort of game we would play, probably to keep me from acting up,or getting board while in the vehicle.my dad was gone from my life as of my 8th birthday, but i still kept on with that game, but on my own.my dad and i are now in contact again (after about 30 years of no contact really) i call him every sunday we talk about the past week, and its good. i try to be a good father to my daughter and son,and a good grandfather to my two grandsons(number 3 grandchild is due in the spring).i guess learning from our parents does rub off on us.i like to do lots with my kids, even though they are 20,and 22 now.it gives us all great stories for the future to remember and share.

Phone numbers had 5 digits and were preceeded by the office name, & long distance calls were placed thru an operator.
I can still remember mom/dad calling my grandparents number; Main 2-7079 (area code witheld)
