When I bought my new 2010 PSD a few months ago, should my truck have come with this TPMS retraining tool? I see there is a spare tire lock tool in the glove box but there isn't anything else sitting in there. What gives?
Since winter is here my light has been on for a while now. I thought 52 psi was correct, but my door pillar says 65 psi at all four corners. So I set the tire pressure today to 65 psi, but I can't find the retraining tool to actually retrain the TPMS.
don't think there is anything other than a dealer visit to retrain. More air pressure is better for mpg's. I run mine close to 80. Much stiffer ride but that does not bother me.
I have the same problem, Can not stand 80lbs in back tires, This problem is with the new 2011 F 350. I want to know how to lower or retrain the computer to allow 55 lbs all around. Went to Ford and they do not know how to do it and this webbsite has people saying they had it done. Lets get it clear NOT how to train the tires that were on the back and got rotated to the front. I know how to do this, I rotate the tires my self and retrain them as per the manual. That is not the problem. The problem is how to tell the computer that I want 55lbs as my warning NOT 80 lbs. I have owned Ford trucks for 20 years and I am ready to get rid of it. I cant live with resetting the dash every time I get in it and I dont want to put black tape on the dash. IS THERE anyone out there that knows how to do this ???????????????????????????????? Thanks Mike HUnter NY
I got the answer, Go to Thedieselstop.com, then type in Dealer reset TPMS for me, member Ford Doctor, he explains how to do it, Get the IDS pluged in at the dealer, Now go to Module Programming, Progrmable Parameters, TPMS ,Here you can reset the Tire Placard values, he said a green screen comes up and says you can only increase the value but says to go past that and you can set the lower values. I got in touch with a friend at my dealer and he says he will have to do it after work this week. I cant wait. OK help this helps all of us. I dont think my Leaf springs and back could take an other year of this. Mike
Wait. It says 'Must be used in conjunction with an H&S Black Maxx, Mini Maxx, or XRT Pro'. Really? That sucks.
I was gonna mention the same thing. It requires the full tuner as well. Won't work with other tuners or standalone.

Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Ford issued an update for the IDS system that the dealers used. If they have updated their systems then it now has the ability to adjust the lower threshold removed. If your friends dealer hasn't upgraded the system, then you might still be able to get it done.
I had my TPMS adjusted to 49lbs ,all 4 tires yesterday at the dealer. Went into the IDS and then into programable, then TPMS and set both frt and rear to 49lbs. It took me over a year to get this done. Thanks to Ford Doctor.

Sweet Your the first one I've heard of able to get it done. Did the dealer give you any crap about it? Probably does not matter but what year is your truck?
