Don't know about the rest of you but I'm pretty disappointed that I can't see the actual pressure in each tire from the TPMS. Guess it was a design decision by Ford but in my opinion, for a truck that is designed to haul and tow, it would sure be nice to know your tire pressures.
And since I'm complaining (whining?) I'd like to see the TPMS system be designed to read an additional 4 - 6 tires (trailer). While it's great to know that at least none of the truck tires has dropped below a preset level, it's equally important to know about the trailer (especially with all the exploding Chinese trailer tires out there).
I can't even find an aftermarket solution that would monitor the truck TPMS. I don't want to change to a full aftermarket system cause then the truck display would always indicate a problem.
Ok, done complaining, hope someone from Ford monitors these boards and takes this for consideration on future trucks. It's a great safety sales tool.
I agree Rob. GM and Chrysler cars and trucks can be equipped from the factory to display tire pressure. No clue why ours can't, but it is disappointing.

No.....No......No.....No.....No.....I don't want to know the numbers. My Caddy does that and it bothers me way to much and spend way to much time worrying about making the tire pressure balanced.

I hope if Ford does eventually do this, it's more accurate than GM. I'm on my second Impala now and neither one of them have been accurate within 5 - 7 PSI on each of the tires.
If it is true they have the data, could they re-flash to add function to the gauges?
1. Is that possible?
2. Historically, have they ever added functionality to current trucks or do they only add going forward?
Jack,
I can answer #2, on 2011 build 1 trucks Ford did give us better functionality on the gear indicator when they offered us a customer satification program which gave us the 400 hp. Before the program we would have to hit the +/- button everytime we started the truck if we wanted to see what gear we were in (in automatic tran position).
I must be different. Personally, I don't care. I verified my tire pressures one time. 65PSI up front, 80PSI in the back. TPMS light stays off if everything is good. I don't care about the individual pressures as long as everything is within spec. <shrug>

I too try to check my tire pressures on a regular basis. My concern is when towing 12K (w 3 horses in the trailer), before the factory TPMS tells me a rear tire is low, I'm already potentially doing damage to the tire and putting myself and others at risk.
Any safety system design that ONLY tells you when there is a problem won't tell you if it's even working at all. While I'll agree the likelyhood is low, TPMS could fail and you'd never know a tire was low.
On the other hand, if I could actually read tire pressures, I'd know it was working.
I agree epic fail. My wife's Escalade monitors exact psi and I love it. As much as I'm off road I'm always snagging something it would be nice to know exact psi to save having to hand check. But I guess it's not the end of the world. haha
The blank screen is for driving at night if you want a dark dash. It's nice on those long interstate runs to turn off all the lights, make everything as dim as possible. Really saves the eyes from fatigue during the night.
