Check Trans light
Hello everyone,
I've done much searching, but I can't find an answer. I have a 1992 e350 with a 7.3l diesel. The transmission is about 60000 miles old and will maintained, but I have had a few problems. The origional problem is the od light flashing occasionally but soon afterword goes back to normal. This happens only in rare occasions (checked by several shops - replaced fipl switch, checked tach sensor, checked speed sensor). No improvement.
Now, the Check trans dumby light has come on permanently. There doesn't seem to be any shift problems with the transmission, and the fluid level is fine with new filter and fluid in the last 6 months.
What does this light mean? Is it serious? I'm sick of this transmission.
