Well while driving my truck i noticed my tow/haul light flashing on the shifter, then noticed CHECK GAGE Light in dash. well i pulled the code and it read "P0713 Transmission Fluid Temp. Sensor CKT High Input" The trans temp gauge on my dash reads spiked to the max. I have autometer gauges and one being a trans temp which reads from 150 to 160 normally and is reading that as the stock gage is pinged out to the max. Is the problem just a bad sensor? What does ford charge to change it and is it covered under the 100k mile warranty? Everything seems to be driving fine but the dash light and flashing tow/haul button is getting really annoying. any help would be appreciated.
Definitely sounds like a bad sensor to me. Have you tried returning your truck to stock parameters to make sure it wasn't the 1805 causing issues??? You should do that before taking it for repairs to make sure it isn't messing with the TCM
9 times out of ten, with your description it will be a sensor. the early sensors was not that bad, but we still had many that would do what you did. if you dont mind getting your hands dirty, do it your self. it is not that hard. you will have to drop the pan and the sensor is at the right front of the valve body area where the dipstick comes in at. and unless you have extended warranty, you are out of luck.
