The check engine light came on in my daughter's explorer, I checked the water and the oil....little low and took care of it. The light didn't go off. I had the local parts store run an On Board Diagnostic. It came up with the code P1740 which states a transmission systems error. I checked the trans fluid and its fine. Any ideas what the problem might be? Is it something I can fix or will i have to take it to a dealership?
