I recently got a superchips flashpaq 1815 for my 06 f150. I am just wondering how many miles have people put on their trucks while running a tune? I know that if you tow or race or otherwise are hard on the trucks it will shorten the life but what if you just drive normally? Will it affect the life of any components such as the trans?
My 2005 FX4 has 27,500 miles on it, and about 21,000 miles and 2 years of it is with the Diablo Sport Predator, and mostly set to premium tune. I have had no problems and that 5.4 runs strong. I would not ever want to go back to stock.
I waited till I had 31,000 miles on my 2005 5.4 Screwbefore adding the Edge. I now have 63,000 miles. So 32,000 with the Edge, most on level 3 running 93 octane. No way would I run stock!
thats just what i was looking at. I have 16k miles and I just started running the superchips 87 tune and worried it might shorten the life of my transmission.
Different brand, but got a programmer for the Silverado two weeks after it was brand new in Feb '00... had about 700 miles on it, when it was rebuilt and supercharged last summer, it had 161K and not a single problem.
