I have a 360 with a Holley 600 cfm vacuum secondary carb. I'm guessing a C4 trans not sure. Currently I'm getting about 10 mpg. I've replaced the main jets from the factory #66's down to #54's. Have a little bit of stumble on acceleration. Which tells me I'm a little to lean now. So I'm wandering what I'm missing that would give me better mileage?

Missing in the quest for mileage:
Rear gear ratio.. what ya got?
Weight reduction (Dock bumper and intake manifold each weigh about 80 lbs). The more that can be removed, the marginal increase in mpg. It adds up.
Aerodynamics... it's a concrete block (bigger than a brick!)
Less rolling resistance (tire pressure, tire compound, tire width, unsprung weight)
Driving style/environs.. are you on the flats or deal with rolling hills?
Engine efficiency... running headers and dual exhaust? After determining if it is right for you, synthetic lubricants.
The old adage if ya have to ask you can't afford it applies to my truck with a 360 and its love affair with filling stations. I was only getting about 8mpg last time I checked and then it had stock 2bl intake on it.
I think with proper gearing, a 240 and a 5 speed on a short bed fleet side with a mostly empty gas tank and a 90lb driver, the 'theoretical' limit would be around 16. As stated, these trucks are as aerodynamic as a billboard in a cross wind.
I'm around 10 to 12 with my 360 and 4:10 gears. Running Holly 4412 C. Moroso old school drop down air cleaner and a tornado. I have been using the Per-Tronix flame thrower 3. The big improvement was re-bushing the dizzy. That alone was a solid ¾ of a mile to gallon increase.
Sounds like a good combination. Can you show us a pic of the air cleaner? What is a tornado?

Like this one describes?

My '69 with a 300 > C4 > 3.50 gets 16mpg around town, and that's not p*ssyfooting it either. I've been known to give 'er the beans. On the highway, revving at 2,800, I get 19-20mpg.
Oh, and my spark advance module hardly works at all and the carburetor is heat soaked from the headers. So basically the engine isn't even running perfectly.
Here is the link to then. Tornado Air :: More Power, More Mileage! The picture is for the air tube for never vehicles. We have run a few in over the road trucks we some mixed results. Running around town in my 71 f 250 it has helped some. On the road it has been night and day. When the 390 drops in I’ll run without it and see how it is then try with it in as well. Mine set right on top of the bottom of the air cleaner just above the carb.
It may take a few days before I can upload some pictures. Time is not on my side for the next few day. I will get one of the air cleaner. I do not think them make this style any more.
Where exactly does it go on a carbed motor? Inside the air cleaner on top of the air horn?
Hey 351. I know Airaid here in town makes a spacer for fuel injected vehicles behind the throttle body. I don't know if they have 'em for carbed. Their spacers are spiral cut on the inner bore so it creates the same effect as this tornado.
