I am having a leak in the heater tube that comes from the water pump. It is metal and rubber. i called ford dealer today and they don't make the part anymore or have anywhere to get the part.
I was wondering if you can put a t fitting in it with a rubber hose attached to the water pump. The reason for the t fitting is it goes up to the fuel injection.
Goes up to the fuel injection? You mean the one that goes to the throttle body? On my truck the 2 that come out from the water pump goes 2 the intake manifold, and the other goes 2 the heater core. I think your talkin about the wrong part, if you have a pic that would help. And im guessing its your 94?
That's how the older ones were, they had a simple T fitting with rubber on both sides. You could also cut the crimp and replace just the rubber hose if that's what's leaking.
Yes,subford, this is what I am talking about. The rubber hose near the water pump is what is leaking. I want to change the whole thing out. I was wondering if it would work and not cause any problems for the throttle body. The hose that goes to the throttle body , I believe, is a 3/8 or 1/2 inch. I will have to measure.
Thanks for the info and advice.

On my mustang I did away with them lines going to the throttle body. Dont feel like plugging up lines on my truck. I have the peice of pipe from the mustang that has the T fitting in it.
I just went through this. Replaced that Ford part with a regular hose and anti-crimping coils around the hose (can't remember the brand name). It leads to the "T" and works fine.
I replaced this with my entire cooling system this summer and it was a beach to find, i finnally pestered my local Ford dealership (who i dont get along with) to actually walk into their store room and find it instead of just glancing at a computer and telling me they didnt have it. After about 3 minutes guess what? I had me a new hose.

where did you get the anticrimping coils?> this is what I am looking for. I can't find the t fitting. Most of the auto parts places here have the 5/8 t connector but not one that reduces to a 1/2. they have the straight one that reducesd down. I may have to go 5/8 then reduce it down from the t to make it fit. curious about the anti crimping coils though are they at major auto parts stores?
as always, thanks in advance rick

do you have a pic of this done? so I can print it out and show the parts people what i am talking about? did you replace the whole metal piece with a rubber hose, minus the t connector and use the crimping coils to connect the t connector to it? I believe this is what I am reading, is this right?

First off, that sure doesn't look like a 302, so we may have some differences, but...I got the coils at Schucks and they're super easy and make the job easier. At first I didn't have them and the hose was crimping around the alternator so I was obviously concerned about flow. So I asked my boy at Schucks and he suggested the coils. Put 'em on the hose and then bend and presto! Can't really help you with the T-deal, though. Good luck!
