In a previous string on resetting the TPMS, ford does have a device for 19.00 that resets the TPMS. The part no. that the service rep used is 8C2T-1A203-AB the one that the parts guy gave me is 8C2Z-1A203-A, he said that it does not list one for the 07 but this the one listed for the 08. To reset the TPMS you have to turn your key from off to start, (without starting the vehicle) 3 times and tap on the brake, do this untill the horn beeps and then reset the TPMS.
8C2T-1A203-AB is the id(engineering) number, it cross's over to part number 8C2Z1A203A
I went to the dealer this morning and pointed out that the '08 F-150 owners manual on page 231 stated that the reset tool comes with the vehicle. and that you should keep it in the manuals case. The tool is now on order and they will call me when it gets in. My salesman is worried about all of his past sales as he has never delivered a vehicle with the tool before.
Hmm, must be different on the F150's because the pressurized tube trick works great on the 07+ Mustangs.
Is this your Mustang, or somebody else's? What type of TPMS sensor is on the Mustang, the banded ones or the valve stem type?

Is this a 'universal' Ford TPMS reset tool? Will it work on '06 Explorers?

I do not think it is a universal reset tool, I tried using that basic number for the 06 Explorer and no wayno. This is the first time I have even seen this part number so I know very little about right now. was just trying to clarify ID to part number.
Somebody posted a picture of that tool, and it looks like a little garage door opener with a green button on it. Like Shorebird said, the '08 truck owner's manual references a tool that's supposed to come with the rig. It's either buy a $350 OTC universal tool or a $19 Ford part. Both handhelds only have one button on them, so I'm going with the cheap one (for now).
they make a after market band that the sensor goes onto ,take out of old wheels put old sensors on new bands[which are reusable] just make sure sensor is directly across from valve stem inside wheel. Then reset light in car
My bad if it is a sensor on the valve you shoulld be able to just change stems and all. Then go to local tire shop have them reset . I do not even charge anymore if my stuff,
