I went to the dealer and got a new one which really made a positive difference for me. I don't know if they did anything else while I was there. I still have a black one in the glove box from International that cost me like $90 five years ago.

TO be very honest unless you are having any issue with your CPS now I would wait until it starts to givr you problems. I got mine replaced that was having no issues. The first new gray sensor last 24 hours before I had to put my spare in to have them replace it again. The second is also having issues. It very well may be that the connector or the wiring is the issue. I put my spare in again last Monday and have had no hiccups since. Also the second CPS was installed and the o-ring was cut in half and leaking oil when I changed it out!

Don't fix it unless its broke is my advice!

Off topic, but I like this signature so much that I finally have to say something about it. Now on topic, why I have not done the recall is as much a mystery to me as why either that joke Carter, or the laugh of the century Gore ever receiver the below mentioned.

What would be some symptoms of a going bad, or bad CPS?

This morning it was about 40* and my truck started just fine, let it warm up for about 2-3 minutes. When i gave it gas it responded with about a 500RPM increase and then the fell suddenly and died. Then started back up and had to depress accelerator fully to keep the truck from dieing (would not idle without dieing) the tachometer was going a tad crazy and would often go from 3,000 randomly and shoot back down to 500 and barely run. After it warmed up it ran great and started great the rest of the day. I feel its not a Glowplug issue because it starts fine. Thanks for the hellp!

Way off topic but helpfull anyway. Anybody wonder how to type in the degree symbol? Well, here it is. Alt 2 4 8. Go ahead, try it. It's cool, about 40° cool.

I did try it and my computer must be broke. Don't work and I don't know what I am doing, but it would be cool if I figure that out.

CPS syptoms include bucking, jerking, hiccup, stall, no start. Those are the normal ones. strange ones include stalling when hitting the brake with a trailer hooked up, poor fuel mileage, rough running, etc.

Your symptoms sound alot like a rubbed thru wire where the main engine harness goes over the driverside valve cover. Check the harness where the wire loom doesn't cover the wire and you may find a wire or two with the insulation rubbed through.

Are you using the ten key on the right side of your keyboard? Make sure the number lock is on. And if you want the diameter symbol, it's alt 0 2 4 8, ø. No, I don't have a lot of free time. I use these occasionally.

Jim.

I still don't get it, I know, I'm the slow learner, I rode the short bus to computer school. Plus I using a notebook with numbers across the top if that matters.

Barry, look over on the MJKLUIO789 do each of those keys also have a number on them? On my ThinkPad that is where my 10 keypad is.
