If you can afford some downtime, pull the exhaust elbow off the turbo and send it to Justin at idiperformance.com (member RacinNdrummin on here) and he will mill the end off and weld on a 3" marmon flange. The downpipe is 3" but the outlet at the turbo is still 2.25 or 2.5" so to get maximum potential there, you need to open up the elbow. Of course you can do this later as well, but since youre going to be working on it right there and have the DP out and everything it would sure be easier i would imagine.

I too would like to know what this would run

thanks for the info, I definitely need the downpipe, but I need another pipe also and don't know what it is called or where to get it. it's the pipe that goes from the manifold crossover pipe up to the turbo. Correct me if I'm wrong (this is my first diesel) but the down pipe is the pipe coming out of the turbo that connects to the "muffler pipe".

94 turbo IDI exhaust replacement

I need to replace the exhaust on my 94 F250. I was told to use a 4" exhaust by all of the exhaust companies in my area but I was also informed that 4" would be to big and not run up to temp and that would cause soot and carbon build up in the pipes, so what do you all suggest? So far the truck is entirely stock.

That's a bunch of garbage. A 4" exhaust will be just fine. Most folks go with at least a 4" and some do 5".

I have a Banks 3" before the muffler and 4" out that works great. Mine has the 3" DP and the fuel turned up. Great power, not much noise.

I see the date has this message as nearly a year old, but I wanted to respond anyway. In October of 2013 I bought and installed that exact downpipe and it is a straight bolt on. I used a long punch to fold my firewall weld lip away from the pipe because it looked like the two made slight contact and I wanted to eliminate possible vibration. Not much, maybe 1/4" of clearance. I also reused the factory heat shield and re-wrapped the Banks downpipe. I'm happy with the results, dropped by cruising EGT's 50*, and I screwed down my wastegate rod enough to see 2 psi @ 55 mph with a peak of 8 psi under acceleration.
