On the 2-speed wiper switches (mine is a '66 with a 1-speed wiper), is the speed control in the SWITCH, or is there a ballast resistor somewhere downstream from the switch?

1961/66 F100/350 = Three different wiper motors: one for single speed motor, and two for 2 speed motors (1966: depends on serial #).
1961/66: C4TZ-17508-G .. Wiper Motor ~ Single Speed (Motorcraft WM-158)
1961/65; 1966 early models ONLY: D0TZ-17508-A .. Wiper Motor ~ Two Speed (Motorcraft WM-150) Use before serial number 788,001
1966; 1967/72: C7TZ-17508-D .. Wiper Motor ~ Two Speed (Motorcraft WM-225) 1966: Use after serial number 788,001
3 different Wiper Switches (sigh)

On a 66 Mustang the wiper motor and the switch is different. There doesn't seem to be a resistor externally anywhere, but possibly in the motor. The 2 speed switch has 7 wires including one that goes to washer motor and then back to wiper motor. The single speed sw has 5 wires of which 4 goes to the wiper motor.
Thanks and sorry to everyone, but my interest is not in converting to 2-sp wipers (although I am printing all the info and P/N's ND provided), but whether I can use a 2-sp wiper switch as a fan motor switch in another vehicle. I was thinking it would be an easy install if I could retain the 2-sp feature in the switch itself...

Ford passenger cars:
1966 before 1/1/1966 = There are two wiper motors = one for single speed / one for 2 speed.
1966 after 1/1/1966 = two speed wiper motors only.
On January 1, 1966, a new Gov't safety standard went into effect for CARS only (E100; F100/350 & Bronco in 1967). Among the changes: 2 speed wipers w/ windshield washers were standard equipment, also standard: a left hand outside mirror, lap seat belts for 4 passengers, backup lights, dual horns, turn signals (!), heater/defroster..etc.

That would be doable with the resistor from heater fan control from a Ford heater as they had multiple speed fans controlled by the resistor.

ND, I see that you indicated that C4TZ-17508-G was ised for a 61 through 66 models. How is a part number with a "4" be correct for vehicles prior to 64?
