Wipers an switch problem

On my 73 F series 2 speed wipers (these are not intermittent) when I shut off the wipers they stop where they are and dont cycle and stop at the bottom of the windshield. I am also installing a new windshield solvent system and the little pump motor will not run when I depress the wiper switch and the wipers dont move. Do I have a bad wiper switch?

The washer pump is easy to check. Take the plug off of the pump motor, and check for power when you depress the switch. Also check the other terminal for ground. If there is no power, check the fuse(on my 78 it is on the same circuit as the back-up lights). If there is power and ground, the pump is bad. If no power,it is either the switch or the wiring. If the wipers don't "park"at the correct position, the problem is most likely in the wiper motor. There is a way to test it, you will need a 1973 shop manual.

Ok the pump is new (china) and if the stop is in the motor I will live with it I grew up when wipers ran off a vacuum hose so ya just waited till they hit bottom and shut them off. Thanks
