oh, ok. Mine is 3.5 years old and looks like the one in the picture, so I guess I have the "older" one.

You could email Travis too and see if he has any tips?

Thanks for clarifying. As for future reference though, some brands/models, like mine use a "hidden key" along with an antenna around the cylinder. It basically a universal bypass and can be used on most any car that has a chip in the key.

oh I see. I never liked the idea of having a hidden key in my truck so I always bought the programmable antenna bypass for my past few installs.

I have the Crimestoppers unit and the cold weather does not affect it; two days ago it was 0 here and it started with no problem.

Yoman,
Good to hear, I just got off the phone with Travis myself and he is sending me a new brain out at no charge. He said the some times the tach signal is so low that the unit does not pick it up, basically the brain is just jacked up, When I talked to Code alarm customer service they also send this could be the problem. So he is sending out a new brain on Monday and should get it by Wednesday of next week.

Hey Yoman and Ford Fx4, I know that Travis is a good guy to deal with. It seems as if you both have installed the starters yourselves.

With limited electrical knowledge, how easy would you rate installing the remote starter following Travis' directions and with it pre wired?

Patatoe1, check out this thread as I just answered a bunch of questions for littlewille.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ggestions.html

On a scale on 1 to 10 I'd give it a 6, following the directions as he gives you pictures of were all the wires go.

I would say #5.

Its just wiring cut, snap, etc.

If I were you, do the hunt for wires colors first all of it (pull wire out of twist wires) like prepare it

Most important is to read the instruction 2-3 times and look around your truck under steering, take your time! Before you start..

I ran into problem that it didn't start and called travis we couldn't figure out until he realized that the brain need to be ground lol and it works! It was on sunday evening.
It took me about 4 hrs with breaks, read again.
It was my first time and did a well!
Good luck

Updated!

Just got the bypass module by KCautosounds (Travis) it was new one as updated as better than old one.

I removed old bypass box and installed new one and its all back to normal!!

The new one has NO antenna cuz its wiring directly to factory ring PATS! its cool.

I want to big thank Travis for sent me a free replace bypass module!
