The truck started runing bad and white smoke started coming out the tail pipe and also running extremly bad and shut off. There is bad blow by coming out the oil fill in the pasanger side valve cover and also driverside ccv hole. A white hase and fills like an air compreser pumping air out. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please.....only truck got college starting back up and not much money!!!!!!
Is the oil OK? I mean is it funny colored milky? It sounds like you may have a bad o-ring on an injector. That is just my first guess. But if the oil is milky you have bigger problems. You could also have a bad headgasket although unlikely. Just my $.02
No oil looks fine and my coolant is good. Im wondering if a valve is stuck or a bad ring but I'm not sure. If I pull the motor out and replace them what eles should I replace and what eles should I look for?
Get a compression tester from autozone. Take all the spark plugs out, and crank the engine over with the starter until you see the needle on the guage pulse about 5 times. All cylinders should be within 10-20 PSI of each other. A good motor will be between 165-200 PSI on the cylinders, maybe higher depending on the compression ratio.

after you take all the "spark plugs" out and check the compression, make sure the carburator isnt sticking sorry i had to...
cc, my prediction is vc harness. You gotta remember, it's colder now and the glow plugs are cycling longer than normal. With that in mind, if you had a connector at the vc that was questionable, it will most certainly fail come winter. Pull the vc connectors and check them out. You can even ohm out the pins I bet you a dollar you find a burnt connector.
Crap, sorry, thought this was the gasser section. In that case, your going to need to remove the glowplugs to do a compression test. The cylinders should stll all be within 10-20 PSI of each other, and the avg. compression should be around 400-500 PSI or so
You may want to jump the starter solenoid for a diesel though, since if you still have compression in that one cylinder your doing the test, it could try to fire the engine
We have the intake off and the engine sounds fine at idle just looks like a Choo-Choo Train puffing a light oil haze out the oil fill and the ccv. It threw two codes PO344 and PO326 we reset them to see if they throw again. The CPS was just replaced last week,I took avantage of the recall. I replaced gp/inj harness, new vc gasket, ccv o-rings,and the 2 ccv screws o-rings last night.
Cranked up our 95 7.3 and can not feel any noticeable pressure coming out the oil fill. You can see a light oil haze coming out with a flash light at night. Thanks for the help guys.

Well from what we have found out so far without pulling the heads is that I either have a cracked piston or a bad ring in order to get as much blow by as Im getting. So therefor looks like Il be pulling the engine and rebuilding. Sounds like its guna be abunch of and what a way to start off a New Year...?.... Any tips or ideas on what I should do while the engine is pulled out.
