So here's the story, I went offroading about 3 weeks ago and got stuck in a huge hole, half of the truck was sunk. I know, stupid. The transmission oil got water in it so I changed all the fluids and took it for a test drive and it is not shifting into 4th, it shifts from 1st to 2nd fine, and sometimes shifts to 3rd. The transmission oil is clean and full.
So the question is, judgeing on my situation, am I ****ed out of a thousand on a rebuild or could it be the solenoid that got wet or something?
Thank you for your time

So after it got stuck, did you shut the truck off and tow it home?Or did you drive it home and it still had OD.Did this no 3-4 shift happen after you performed the trans service?I am not sure about the E4OD,but I do know that the A4LD had a huge problem of breaking the OD band. The A4LD are not the same as the E4OD but if it does not shift into 4th, you could try performing the band adjustment.Lossen the nut and tighten the stud to 10 foot pounds. Then back the stud off 1 turn and sinch the locking nut.
The other thing is you may have a tiny pice of sand in the solinoid causing it not to opperate leaving you stuck in 3rd.
Remember the valves in the valve body are precise fit.If water was to get in there and contaminate the valve body, then you could have an issue there.
