My first Ford, purchased new, 07, e350 V-10. After a normal drive and upon restart after a 40 minute stop, the engine fired ran rough for 20 seconds and stopped.
The dealer did a troubleshoot and found the fuel pump defective.
This was replaced and I was on the road again.
The amazing thing is this van has 4,200 miles. Yes 4 thousand, two hundred.
Any similiar experiences with such a premature pump failure?
The general history of the V10 engine is that it is very, very reliable. The fuel pump is pretty isolated as an engine system, so hopefully it won't disappoint you again any time soon.
But "no", there's absolutely no particular history of fuel pumps being defective with the V10, any of them...
