replacement headlight plug???

hey guys, so heres the deal..bought the nokya blue bulbs and had em in my truck for about 3 or 4 months and now the passenger headlight is out...i know what happened b/c the same exact thing happened to me on my 05 superduty...(it says right on the package that the upgraded harness is recommened, which this is the second time i have ignored it...don't ask why just hard headed i guess..) anyway the bulbs get too hot for the factory plug and burn it up...i replaced the one on my 05 which came from Oreillys and was fine..take it from me, if you're gonna get the higher wattage bulbs..replace the harness..my question is, does anyone know where i can get a replacement plug for the 08 other than the dealer?? Thanks...

fordstroker,

As far as i know it is still a dealer item.
Also FYI be very careful when modifying the lighting systems on the 08 SD. The lights are controlled and monitered by the Smart Power Distribution Junction Box.

SPDJB: System Description
Smart Power Distribution Junction Box (SPDJB or SJB) was incorporated in the 2008 model year F250/350/450/550. Its job is to provide protection against excessive current loads, typical of a short circuit, by shutting down circuit function. The "low-beam" circuit (or "auto-lamps" if so equipped) is protected by SPDJB integrated circuit strategy that shuts down headlamp function when it detects excessive, predetermined, current levels (i.e. larger than a 55-watt bulb load) or short-to-ground.

had no idea about that..i wonder if that is why i have no high beams at all...these bulbs have caused my high beams to go out completely and my right side is burnt out completely..so all that works on it is the fog lights and the drivers side low beam....i shouldn't have bought these bulbs again, but regardless i need to get my lights back right...any ideas? thanks..

Sounds like you need to troubleshoot the entire lighting circuit and look for burnt/shorted wires, loose connections, bad fuses etc. If it is a problem in the SPDJB it may take a certified/qualified Ford tech with the proper equipment to find this.
