Backup Mirror - As video or connected to reverse?

Alright, I got my $28 CCD cam off ebay and will mount it in the next coiuple of days. I was testing it last night and found that it worked fine off of an AV input and I could control it with the push of a button. Has anyone else used one this way? I think it would be mighty handy to have this thing be available anytime I want it but also might be a pain if I have to select it everytime I go into reverse. Any thoughts?

No way to automatically switch it when you put in reverse?

If it doesn't have a "trigger" for the reverse...I'd run the hot side to the reverse lights wiring.
