i have power at the plug, the pink/black wire shows power.. and i only put like 2 or 3 gallons in, the fuel pump should still kick on regaurdless.. i think
ya it should kick on. when u spliced in the new pump did u use the crimp connecters or the heat shrink tubbing? and was there any corosion on the terminals?
i crimped the connectors.. do they need to be heat shrinked as well? I didn't see any corrosion. I plan on redoing it all again today to double check everything. =\
UPDATE: Well now i'm really upset i tested the old pump just for kicks and it still works... so i unplugged the harness by the fuel tank and hooked power up to different prongs... and that fuel pump works!! So now it's a wireing issue. Why does it have four wires can anyone tell me?
UPDATE II: i spliced into the ground wire... it runs now... so after all the money and bs that went on it was a stupid ground wire. Does anyone know where the ground wire goes to from the fuel pump harness?

I think you caught this forum on a bad day.
There is a user here named "subford" who would usually post a wiring guide for you.
If you do a search for gas tank/fuel pump related threads, you should trip accross one where he has the wiring diagram posted,............he has done it many times.
Of the 4 wires going to the tank, 2 are grounds.
One is from the fuel gauge and always has 12 volts on it.
The other has 12 volts for the fuel pump when the relay is engaged.
The 2 ground wires are Orange, and Black on my diagram.
