To only just 1 side all yo do is find the 2 pins for the swich side and jump them. But now thinking about that if you have power at the pump then ur relay is fine, and everything to do with that is working fine. Id bet on ur fuel pump.
I jumped the connector and i hear a relay click on and off in the engine compartment.. but no fuel pump kicking on... is this a sign that the fuel pump is shot?
Crap-ola... alright well thanks to everyone who helped me figure it out!! Especially you mike ;-) Looks like i'll be droppin the take, which i just filled up, and changing out a 100 dollar fuel pump, i hope this works!
If try to empty the tank a little 1st. Its going to be hard to take the full tank down. At my old job i was helping another mechanic out and he didnt plug the filler neck good enough on a suburban and i took a bath in gas. I was so mad.

Fuel Pump is probably going to run more than 100 dollars.
Can you guys think of anything else I need or should change while i have the gas tank down? There is a fuel pump and a sending unit listed at the parts store.. do i just need the fuel pump?
I just read through all the posts and I didn't notice if you checked the inerta switch under the passenger side kick panel. I think that switch disables the fuel system electrically, doesn't it? Anyway I would check that before I changed the fuel pump. I have the same truck only a 92. I had to change my fuel pump about a year ago, but I pulled the bed. I thought it would be eaiser than lowering a full tank and less dangerous than playing with the gas. Pulling the bed is pretty easy to do, 6 bolts and a wiring harness. Any way good luck.
If you get just the fuel pump i think you have to splice it into your stock sending unit. If you get it all you just swap it out. Ck your tank over and see if its all rusted out. I know my rear was changed and my front leaks a little so I dont use it now, ill get around to changing it.
alright well i'm frozen, can't feel my toes face or fingers. I got a new fuel pump spliced it to the sending unit... got it all put back together and still nothing ... i reset the emergency switch thing... i'm gonna cry.. i am warming up a little bit now, i'm going to go back out and check the connection by the fuel tank... if that isn't it i'm dead in the water =\
btt, i wish it was summer so i could work out side longer, and i hate working with fuel cause i can't use my heater =( Someone told me that my ground might not be good? Where is the ground?
