Save you hard earned money, and keep your warranty without any questions...... Go to your nearest exhaust shop and have your stock muffler removed and put in a 3.5" piece of pipe, leave tha cat, that all will run ya around $50-$60 Bucks! Mine sounds great that way and the turbo spools waaayyyy faster than with that stock muffler in place!! I have heard $500-$1000 4" & 5" single & dual exhaust and my $50 straight pipe sounds just a good if not a little better! After removing my muffler I can't beleive people go out and spend all that money on a system??? I'd like to see a dyno comparison with cat back systems vs. stock sytems minus the muffler.....

Something to consider, if you travel alot you may require warranty work at a dealer that is not mod friendly, and FMC does not like Turbo Back systems and has been known to void warranty repairs do to this. FMC does not have issues with a Cat Back system, so this is a safer warranty route to go.

If you do not tow much then the lower EGT will be of little benefit, the only other benefit of an A/M exhaust system is a different sound. MPG & performance gains will be slim to none on a stock or lightly modded engine.

Another option is to just replace the factory muffler with a "Walker BTM" muffler, which do to its better flow characteristics will reduce the EGT as well. If you do not mind increased noise, you can just straight pipe it from the Cat back.

Removing the Cat (legalities aside), only sees about 1-2Hp gain, and increased whistle. The downside to removing the Cat is it will cause warranty issues since any professional mechanic working on a vehicle with disabled emissions equipment can recieve a hefty fine from the Feds.
Thanks Blackhat620 and LaxPlaya21,
These are the issues that I'd be worried about, I never thought the turbo back exhaust would be a warranty issue. But I guess to some degree it's a by-product of all the warranty issue's that Ford has had with these trucks. I appreciate the no-BS responses! Thanks
