I have an edelbrock hydrolic cam and lifter set that's for a 289, 302. When i bought my ford, the cam was brand new still in the box. The truck came with a 351w. The question is.....can i use that cam with no problems, in my 351w.
All depends what firing order the cam is. if it's a 302 than you would use the 302 firing order. The ignition timing would be for the 351W or where ever it runs the best. I like to advance the timing far enough until it starts to pining than I retard it a little.
I have some pics of the timing gears and chain, my father in law calls the timing set a "true double roler" it have a couple of timing degrees that i can set it to, i will post some pics of the set. Any advice with this would be appreciated as well...thank you.
you want the key that is right in the middle of the mark.... I think it has a (0) (V) and a square... look at each of them and the one that is centered on the tooth is the one you want.
