CAM Phasers Ford pays!
I called ford customer care. They had my local Ford dealersip diag the issue and Ford paid. The dealership opened the motor and confirmed that the cam phasers were bad as well as 2 of the hydrolic lifters.
Ford paid for half of the repair costing me just over $600. Not bad considering the original estimate for diag and repair was $2200!
I was nice and polite with no expectations. Ford stepped up and did the right thing.
Stand up crew over there.
When they diagnosed my truck they documented the condition of the inside of my motor. They stated "engine is properly maintained" They verbally stated that the inside of my engine is the cleanest they have seen. -I always run full synthetic mobile1 and either a mobile1 or K&N oil filter.
Mike at Ford Customer care was great. I was just thankful to talk to him. I didn't complain or claim that Ford sucks... I know he hears that crap ALL DAY. I just told him I love my truck but she has been expensive to own. I have spent about $1000 a year on repairs since I purchased her. I was calling him to share my experience not complain. I didn't ask him for anything or expect anything. In our first conversation he said "let me see what I can do" and a couple days later he called me back with a plan -diagnose and he would pay. I was extremely grateful. Then after the diagnosis he offered to help and again I couldn't thank him enough.
Ford customer care paid off for me and its paying off again for Ford as I am buying a new Raptor and keeping my old girl also.
