05 Cold Start Problem,
This is the piece that I found leaking oil about a month ago. There is a silicone type area between the electrical plug and the nut that you turn to install/remove it with that had a crack about 180 degrees around it. Oil was comming out and dripping down and on the driveway. Not knowing what the device was, I removed and cleaned it thoroughly, then resealed it with silicone caulk. All seemed to work well... No more oil leak. This leak must have been the symptom of a more serious problem with that sensor because it caused this no-start problem. The dealer replaced it and the truck runs perfectly now and starts right up with that loud snarl that I love so much! Man, I missed that truck! It's like sending our kids to camp for a week. You just feel empty inside...
I decided to go ahead and change the oil again, and while doing that I decided to go ahead a follow the EGR instructions in the bible. Not too hard, will be posting my photos here as soon as I get the time too. Had to replace both my batteries. Long story short if I cycle the glow plugs a couple of times when really cold. I dont know if its the factor of everything that I did, or something small that effected everything in the end.
Its now firing up fine in the morning. Thinking maybe the EGR had something to do with it. What do you guys all think?
