Need clutch advice
Truck is a 1994 F-350 w/5 speed and 7.3 powerstroke. I'll note that its a dual wheel flatbed dump with a V-box salter on back and a Blizzard plow up front. This truck plows and pulls my trailers all year and the clutch pedal has been grabbing low at the floor and grinding gears for awhile now. I replaced the master and slave which made no difference so I'm thinking its the pressure plate getting tired?
Whats your thoughts on this? And for the second question-what is the best pressure plate/clutch/flywheel to use on a truck like this?
Thanks guys
It was the pressure plate gone south; the clutch disc was only 1/2 gone. As long as it was open, though, I replaced not only the pressure plate, but the clutch disc, release bearing, and slave cyl.
When you replaced the master/slave cylinders, were they pre-bled or did you bleed it after installation?
How many miles are on the truck? First clutch? If so, and it's a lot of miles, I'd think the stock clutch is the way to go. Unless of course, you have a heavy load that is very hard to get moving without smoking the clutch
