Need clutch selection advice BAAD

I am in the process of choosing a clutch for my '77 F250 4x4 460, np435 build up. I have ruled out the stock clutch because of the kind of abuse I plan on giving the truck. I feel I will need some extra holding power. I don't want to replace the clutch every few thousand miles either. At the moment I am considering two setups from Ram cluthches. One is their powergrip series, 98769 with a kevlar disc, and stock plate pressure (in terms of its static pressure). The other setup is the 300 series organic disc (306M) with the 406 series pressure plate. This setup has a higher static pressure to obtain its holding power. Supposedly it has a smoother release than the powergrip series.

Any recommendations??
If there is anything else out there that is as good, and less than $300, and $360 (respectivley) please let me know!!

What would happen if I was to mix the kevlar disc with the 406 pressure plate???

Thanks

Tony

I'm doing about the same situation as you are-----and i have opted to go with the centerforce double friction------as the amount of peddle pressure on the old knee is much reduced with their product----see if you can find someone in your local area that is using the centerforce setup and just try it out for yourself----you might be Surprised!!!!!!!fd , :-X11

I would go with the Center Force Dual Friction.
I have used Ram clutches before they just don't hold up to the abuse.

1979 F350,4x4,NP435,5:13 gears,Detroit locker in rear with hardened shafts,ABR in the front,360 with 428 crank & rods,390 HP heads,Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch,MSD Ignition,39.5x18 Boggers,bucket seats out of a Lightning,& a Southern Body that is perfect.
