It also put a lot of un-needed stress on the tailgate cables from all the bouncing around. I would NEVER leave the tailgate down when driving unless it was REALLY needed and was a short distance. Just my opinion.
ok, just got back, i went between 450 and 465 miles
on a tank of gas, presuming i have a 25 gal tank
i figure a good estiment will be about 18 mpg.
i can live with that for a full size truck.
the 450 was going with the truck's back seat
and floor,and 1/2 the bed loaded with presents
and the 465 was comming back with a few presents
in the back seat.
