Oil Pan Gasket
Very little oil seepage from rear seal, replacement looks easy so I guess I'll do that while I'm here. Any advice, precautions?
Also a little seepage from oil pan gasket - not bad at all. Can I replace gasket without major hassle now that flywheel is out? I am hesitant to lift engine since the exhaust bolts look like they would not cooperate? Can I do it without lifting engine?
If not, I may just leave it till my exhaust needs work. This started out as a transmission rebuild, figuring that if I can't do it, I can just buy a used one. But the deeper I get the more work I find. I don't like the looks of my clutch linkage, I don't like the looks of my clutch, I don't like my throwout bearing, I don't like my flywheel - clutch and pressure plate look good. Blah, Blah, Blah. Sorry.
Appreciate your comments on the gasket replacement -- and anything else, if you have not tires of this message.
Thanks in advance.

I am currently trying to find out why my op gasket is pushing out under the oil filter?

In re: (only) to your flywheel's condition, don't count it out yet. The flywheel that came out of my '81 (driven extensively before I got it w/ a slipping clutch) was "burned blue" and cross-checked, from high heat, but the machine shop cut @ .028 off it and it looked perfect and has remained factory smooth in its operation. The cracks were "easy to see and feel" on this mine as well, but shop said it would be ok and it was.
