Do I need 2 cat converters?
Hello. I have a 1985 and I am going to replace the whole exhaust system. There are 2 catalytic converters. Do I need both to pass emissions? One person told me one should do fine. Greg.

It all depends upon state visual inspection laws. If you replace the two cats with a single 3way+air cat you will do fine on emissions tests. You might not pass the visual test. States differ from state to state.
