All you need to do is wire a LED to the GPR, so when it powers off there the GP's will shut off and you have timed out that cycle of the plugs. I haven't done it yet but I'm going to. It's darn near a free mod.

I guess I need to take a look at the GPR to see exactly what posts do what to install the LED. I take it any 12V LED will work.

It is the relay closest to the passenger side behind the fuel bowl. The two large post are power from battery and ground, so I think it would be the two smaller posts that go to the GP's. It's just like testing the relay to see if it works.

No, it goes to the large post that's not hot all the time. The two large posts are not battery & ground -- one has battery voltage on it all the time, the other goes to the GPs. So you would hook your indicator LED to the large post that's only on when the relay is energized. The smaller posts are the relay control lines.

I humbly stand corrected, I haven't done this yet, so I wasn't quite sure. Thanks Joe, I wouldn't want to have him zap something.

The one thing I'd like to add about REALLY cold starts, is that solid batteries make a huge difference. I just replaced my originals last week because of poor starting power and WOW. Turns out each battery had a dead cell, but those stock motorcraft batteries were tough. I was not in the least bit nice to them, and they held up for 5 years.
